KEY IMMIGRATION ISSUES
“An accent is a part of your identity” This video is a very useful tool for educators that want to advocate for their immigrant and refugees students. It shows how schools and administrators can make families, that come to enroll their children to school, welcome in an environment where they can feel safe. It provides information about DACA and how benefits students from K-12. Also, indicates how, by law, schools have to enroll unaccompanied minors who make residency requirements regardless of their immigration status. The video ends with some advice for taking an advocating stance, like speaking to students and families about the current political issues.
